OKA – BAR – The brazilian sounds in Bairro Alto

The alternative and underground club OKA is unfamiliar to most of the people that frequent the vivid Bairro Alto nightlife, as it is completely separated from the noisy streets – its the only club that lies in that street and people that appear there go expressly to the place.
Although the place is small, it’s low ceiling allows you to actually touch it and run your fingers along it as you dance, it’s captivating, joyful and colorful, always filled with relaxed people moving to the sound of Brazilian and African rhythms (forró, mangue beat, bossa nova, pagode). The place usually has live music, often by Brazilian musicians that mainly play acoustic and percussion instruments, against a background of Brazilian football memorabilia. Try the snacks, smile openly and let yourself go.
